Nonprofit Staff Retention Strategies in a New Environment

Description:
There has been a great deal of conversation about the “Great Resignation” in the wake of the pandemic, but perhaps another way of describing what is happening is the “Great Renegotiation.”  The current workforce is looking for opportunities for better perks, pay, flexibility and treatment, while nonprofits operate in an environment of limited resources.  Organizations need to create engagement, provide appropriate flexibility, and cultivate opportunities for employee growth and development in order to transform their workforce into a high employee retention culture.

During this 90-minute Zoom workshop, managers will:

  • Learn how to create engagement and involvement by utilizing the organization’s mission, values, and goals
  • Utilize a proactive onboarding process and activities to build accountability and loyalty
  • Discuss feedback practices and the impact they have on employee retention
  • Learn the benefits of “stay interviews”
  • Understand the importance of career development conversations
  • Brainstorm ways to create appropriate flexibility
  • Understand the importance of employee health and wellness
