- Graduating Connecticut high school seniors
- Achieved academic success
- Demonstrated outstanding hockey ability while playing hockey during high school years (high school, town, and/or intramural team)
- Accepted into a four-year college/university with a hockey program
Although the team is no longer based in Hartford, this fund, established in 1998, is meant to pay tribute to and perpetuate the spirit of the fans of the Whalers hockey team. The Booster Club is involved in selecting high school seniors who are outstanding in academics and as hockey players.
