Selection Criteria:
- College graduates in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of medical school
- Attended a Connecticut public and/or parochial school for at least eight years and have graduated from a Connecticut public or parochial high school
- Attending, and are in good standing at an accredited medical school, A.M.A (or similar status accrediting entity) located in the United States
Florence Marino established this fund in 1994 to honor the life of her husband, Dr. Frank Marino, and continued to support it until she passed away in 2025 at the age of 102. Dr. Marino was a prominent obstetrician/gynecologist who chaired the department at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center. The fund offers scholarship support to students educated in Connecticut who are attending medical school.
