Selection Criteria:
- Graduating high school seniors of public, private, or parochial high schools who are residents of Bloomfield, CT
- Achieved academic success (3.0 GPA or above)
- Planning to attend a two- or four-year college/university, or vocational/technical/trade school
- Demonstrated financial need
Local residents started the Bloomfield Citizens Scholarship in the 1960s and Dolph Becker volunteered to run the scholarship in the 1980s. When he decided to retire in 2019, the decision was made to move the Scholarship to the Foundation to safeguard it for future generations. Becker called his four decades of running the program a labor of love. “Education is all-important.”
