Creating a positive impact in our region
Greater Hartford Gives Foundation, formerly known as the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, is a century-old community foundation that serves 29 towns. Our mission is to put philanthropy into action to create lasting solutions that result in vibrant communities within the Greater Hartford region. We make an impact in this community by making progress toward our strategic priorities of dismantling structural racism and advancing social and economic mobility.
A century of partnering with the community to power local impact.
Providing scholarships for Hartford students
Through the Greater Futures Scholarship Fund, we provide hundreds of scholarships to Hartford students, along with a decade of wraparound supports, providing a pathway to debt-free graduation.
Ensuring that Greater Hartford residents have basic human needs
In 2025, we awarded nearly $8 million in grants to support food security and other basic needs, including our Emergency Assistance Grants.
Supporting our region's young people
We are a partner in the Hartford Opportunity Youth Collaborative, an initiative that is reducing the number of youth and young adults who are disconnected from school and employment.
A culture of learning
In order to be more impactful, our Learning & Evaluation team helps measure and improve the effectiveness of our work.
