Volunteer Opportunities

The Greater Hartford Gives Windsor Community Fund Committee is seeking new voices!

Applications to volunteer as a committee member are being accepted now! 

Requirements to Apply: 

  • Windsor Resident 
  • Age 14 or Older
  • Agree to adhere to Foundation-wide policies and the Community Funds Handbook 

Candidates for elected office, elected officials, and their immediate family members may not serve on a committee.

Grant Awards

In 2024, the Greater Hartford Gives Windsor Community Fund announced the recipients of its latest grants to 12 organizations that do work to benefit the residents of Windsor. 

Through its 2024 grant cycle, the Greater Hartford Windsor Community Fund proudly supported 12 organizations making a difference in the lives of Windsor residents.

The 2024 grants recommended for funding and awarded includes: 

WIN-TV ($5000) – to support their KIDVID summer workshop program

Journey 2 Free ($3650) – Podcast equipment, support group facilitator

WHS Project Graduation ($5000) – substance free celebration for th class of 2024 Windsor Special Olympics ($2500) – Assist in covering Registration fees, uniforms, equipment, bus & facility rental

Journey Writers ($2500) – To support costs for materials and venue for writing workshops

Northwest Park ($5000) – Support the purchase of a new Planetarium Dome

Windsor Junior Women’s Club ($2500) – Support their Senior Dinner Program

Windsor Human Relations Commission (WHRC) ($4500) – Annual Juneteenth Celebration

Interval House ($2500) – Support for assistance to Windsor victims of domestic violence

Team Paragon Robotics ($5000) – Support the purchase of robotics kits and software for 3 Windsor Robotics Teams

Operation Fuel ($2500) – Direct financial assistance for Windsor residents fuel bills

First Church Learning Center ($2000) – to purchase art materials and enhancements for classroom use.

Past Grant Recipients

Hartford Interval House ($5,000) – to support victims of domestic violence. 

Northwest Park ($2,800) – to support educational programming through the purchase of a new projector.

Windsor Giants Midget Football Team Inc. ($5,000) – to support the purchase of new helmets and pads to ensure safety for all participants.

Contribute to the Community Fund that supports projects that are improving the lives of residents in Windsor.
