Volunteer Opportunities
The Suffield Community Fund at Greater Hartford Gives is not accepting new volunteers at this time. If you’re interested in joining in the future, we welcome you to submit an application – we’ll gladly keep it on file and reach out during our next recruitment cycle.
Requirements to Apply:
- Suffield Resident
- Age 14 or Older
- Agree to adhere to Foundation-wide policies and the Community Funds Handbook
Candidates for elected office, elected officials, and their immediate family members may not serve on a committee.

Grant Awards
Through its 2025 grant cycle, the Suffield Community Fund at Greater Hartford Gives proudly supported 9 organizations making a difference in the lives of Suffield residents.
The 2025 grants recommended for funding and awarded includes:
Connecticut Landmarks Association – Support for a public education event at the Phelps-Hatheway House & Garden that will educate members of the public about the wallpaper preservation project.
Connecticut Special Olympics – New equipment ; subsidizing the cost of transportation, facility rental fees for practices, and athlete registration fees for state games.
Move to Heal – Gym memberships and therapy sessions in partnership with Suffield Fitness, for clients who suffer from all forms of life challenges
Operation Fuel – Emergency energy assistance for Suffield residents
Suffield Soccer Club – Purchase benches for the soccer fields
Suffield Social Services Commission – Initial funding for Suffield Sidekicks, a program that matches teenagers with elderly residents who need chores done.
Spirit Horse Therapeutic Riding – Support for therapeutic riding experiences for residents with special needs.
Suffield Foundation for Excellent Schools – Partial funding for an acoustical shell for musical performances.
Suffield Music Boosters Funding – Music lessons for Suffield students

Suffield Garden Club, Inc. – to support developing a phased tree planting plan for Suffield’s historic Main Street and greens
