Volunteer Opportunities

The Greater Hartford Gives Manchester Community Fund Committee is seeking new voices!

Applications to volunteer as a committee member are being accepted now! 

Requirements to Apply: 

  • Manchester Resident 
  • Age 14 or Older
  • Agree to adhere to Foundation-wide policies and the Community Funds Handbook 

Candidates for elected office, elected officials, and their immediate family members may not serve on a committee.

Grant Awards

In 2025, the Greater Hartford Gives Manchester Community Fund announced the recipients of its latest grants to 9 organizations that do work to benefit the residents of Manchester. 

Through its 2025 grant cycle, the Greater Hartford Manchester Community Fund proudly supported 9 organizations making a difference in the lives of Manchester residents.

The 2025 grants recommended for funding and awarded includes: 

Case Mountain Cabin, Inc. – $2,000 to cover the construction cost of door and windows for historic cabin

Community Health Resources – $5,000 to provide basic needs to community members

Gentle Love Diaper Pantry – $5,000 to purchase and distribute two pallets of diapers to Manchester children and families in need

Hartford Interval House, Inc. – $5,000 to provide support for domestic violence survivors and prevention programs

Invent the Summer – $3.300 for summer STEM program for youths

MHS Marching Red Hawks Boosters – $5,000 to support the growth and development of the Manchester High School Marching Band

Our Companions Animal Rescue and Sanctuary – $5,000 for Seniors with Pets Pop-Up Veterinary Wellness Clinic

Rebuilding Together – $5,000 to support the group’s efforts to rehabilitate the houses of lower-income homeowners in Manchester

UR Community Cares Inc. – $5,000 for Cycling Without Age Manchester Inclusion Project

Building Healthy Families – $5,000 to support upgrading the kitchen facility at 20 Hartford Road

Gentle Love Diaper Pantry – $5,000 to support the Community Partner Network Diaper distribution

Invent the Summer – $3,600 to support Manchester Community STEM Workshops

Manchester Women’s Club – $365 to support a community garden plot at the Spruce Street Community garden with produce donated to a local food pantry’s community kitchen

Rebuilding Together – $5,000 to support Rebuilding Together 2024

Second Congregational Church Food Pantry – – $5,000 to support the 2nd Congregational Church Food Pantry

UR Community Cares, Inc. – $5,000 to support Cycling Without Age Manchester

Building Healthy Families – $5,000 to quadruple the number of families served by the group’s community garden located at Main Street and Hartford Road

Gentle Love Diaper Pantry – $5,000 to purchase and distribute two pallets of diapers to Manchester children and families in need

Manchester CT HOPE Initiative – $5,000 to support Manchester families of individuals going through opioid addiction, distribution of NARCAN and training on its use

Manchester Women’s Club – $365 to support a community garden plot at the Spruce Street Community garden with produce donated to a local food pantry’s community kitchen

Operation Fuel – $5,000 to support emergency fuel and utility bill assistance efforts for Manchester residents

Rebuilding Together – $5,000 to support the group’s efforts to rehabilitate the houses of lower-income homeowners in Manchester

Second Congregational Church Food Pantry – $5,000 to support the purchase of food items not available through other partners and the installation of an internal ramp for volunteers to safely offload pallets of food/supplies

Trinity Covenant Church Hope 4:10 – $5,000 to support the purchase of cleaning supplies and toiletry items for distribution through the group’s food pantry

Contribute to the Community Fund that supports projects that are improving the lives of residents in Manchester.
