Volunteer Opportunities
The Manchester Community Fund Committee is seeking new voices!
Applications to volunteer as a committee member are being accepted now!
Requirements to Apply:
- Manchester Resident
- Age 14 or Older
- Agree to adhere to Foundation-wide policies and the Community Funds Handbook
Candidates for elected office, elected officials, and their immediate family members may not serve on a committee.

Grant Awards
Through its 2025 grant cycles, the Manchester Community Fund at Greater Hartford Gives proudly supported 22 organizations making a difference in the lives of Manchester residents.
The 2025 grants recommended for funding and awarded includes:
Case Mountain Cabin, Inc. – $2,000 to cover the construction cost of door and windows for historic cabin
Community Health Resources – $5,000 to provide basic needs to community members
Gentle Love Diaper Pantry – $5,000 to purchase and distribute two pallets of diapers to Manchester children and families in need
Hartford Interval House, Inc. – $5,000 to provide support for domestic violence survivors and prevention programs
Invent the Summer – $3.300 for summer STEM program for youths
MHS Marching Red Hawks Boosters – $5,000 to support the growth and development of the Manchester High School Marching Band
Our Companions Animal Rescue and Sanctuary – $5,000 for Seniors with Pets Pop-Up Veterinary Wellness Clinic
Rebuilding Together – $5,000 to support the group’s efforts to rehabilitate the houses of lower-income homeowners in Manchester
UR Community Cares Inc. – $5,000 for Cycling Without Age Manchester Inclusion Project
Community Child Guidance Clinic, Inc.: $4,000 To support the Hope and Play project
Community Health Resources, Inc.: $2,000 To support essential services for Manchester
Gentle Love Diaper Pantry: $2,000 To support Manchester Community Partner Diaper distributions
Junior Achievement of Southwest New England: $5,000 To support JA Pathways to Careers with Manchester High School
Manchester Area Conference of Churches, Inc.: $1,542 To support the Community Outdoor Lunch Garden
MARC Inc. of Manchester: $3,934 To support the Empowering Movement: Wheelchair & Lift Support Initiative
MARCH, Inc. of Manchester: $5,000 To support the Growing Futures Indoor Hydroponics Farm initiative
MHS Marching Red Hawks Boosters: $5,000 To support the Manchester High School Marching Band
Rosal Cares: $2,000 To support the Essential Supply Pantry
Second Congregational Church: $2,000 To support the food pantry
The Health Collective: $2,000 To support the Manchester Food Pantry
The Pathfinders Association of Manchester Connecticut, Inc.: $5,000 To support the addressing Technology and Basic Needs project

Building Healthy Families – $5,000 to support upgrading the kitchen facility at 20 Hartford Road
Gentle Love Diaper Pantry – $5,000 to support the Community Partner Network Diaper distribution
Invent the Summer – $3,600 to support Manchester Community STEM Workshops
Manchester Women’s Club – $365 to support a community garden plot at the Spruce Street Community garden with produce donated to a local food pantry’s community kitchen
Rebuilding Together – $5,000 to support Rebuilding Together 2024
Second Congregational Church Food Pantry – – $5,000 to support the 2nd Congregational Church Food Pantry
UR Community Cares, Inc. – $5,000 to support Cycling Without Age Manchester
2023
Building Healthy Families – $5,000 to quadruple the number of families served by the group’s community garden located at Main Street and Hartford Road
Gentle Love Diaper Pantry – $5,000 to purchase and distribute two pallets of diapers to Manchester children and families in need
Manchester CT HOPE Initiative – $5,000 to support Manchester families of individuals going through opioid addiction, distribution of NARCAN and training on its use
Manchester Women’s Club – $365 to support a community garden plot at the Spruce Street Community garden with produce donated to a local food pantry’s community kitchen
Operation Fuel – $5,000 to support emergency fuel and utility bill assistance efforts for Manchester residents
Rebuilding Together – $5,000 to support the group’s efforts to rehabilitate the houses of lower-income homeowners in Manchester
Second Congregational Church Food Pantry – $5,000 to support the purchase of food items not available through other partners and the installation of an internal ramp for volunteers to safely offload pallets of food/supplies
Trinity Covenant Church Hope 4:10 – $5,000 to support the purchase of cleaning supplies and toiletry items for distribution through the group’s food pantry
