Volunteer Opportunities
The Greater Hartford Gives Granby Community Fund Committee is seeking new voices!
Applications to volunteer as a committee member are being accepted now!
Requirements to Apply:
- Granby Resident
- Age 14 or Older
- Agree to adhere to Foundation-wide policies and the Community Funds Handbook
Candidates for elected office, elected officials, and their immediate family members may not serve on a committee.

Grant Awards
In 2025, the Greater Hartford Gives Granby Community Fund announced the recipients of its latest grants to 12 organizations that do work to benefit the residents of Granby.
Through its 2025 grant cycle, the Greater Hartford Gives Granby Community Fund proudly supported 12 organizations making a difference in the lives of Granby residents.
The 2025 grants recommended for funding and awarded includes:
- Citizens for a Better Granby Inc – $2,450 – To support digitizing their advertising process.
- Friends of Granby Wildflower Meadow – $1,974 – To support the pocket meadow at Granby Wildflower Meadow
- Gifts of Love, Inc. – $3,550 – To support the Granby Weekend Backpack program
- Granby Congregational Church, UCC – $15,000 – To support purchasing a cargo vehicle for the Open Cupboard Food Pantry
- Granby Fine Arts Booster Inc. – $13,650 – To replace outdated lights
- Granby Homes for Senior Citizens, Inc – $25,000 – To support the installation of an emergency generator for the Stoney Hill Community Room
- Granby Land Trust – $1,400 – To support the Crag Mountain Preserves trail enhancement
- Salmon Brook Historical Society – $12,500 – To support the installation of permanent signage for self-led local tours of Granby landmarks
- Special Olympics Connecticut, Inc – $2,500 – To support the Simsbury local program for Granby residents
- Town of Granby – $3,000 – To support the Smoke Alarm program
- United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut – $5,000 – To support the Supporting Granby Students and Families program
- American Legion Shannon-Shattuck Post No. 182, Inc – $17,500 – To support the Shannon-Shattuck Health and Safety Initiative
