Farmington Community Fund at Greater Hartford Gives

Through its 2024 grant cycle, the Farmington Community Fund proudly supported 7 organizations making a difference in the lives of Farmington residents.

The 2024 grants recommended for funding and awarded includes: 

Interval House: $4,000 to support Farmington victims of domestic violence. 

HOPE Partners of Farmington: $4,400 to purchase wheelchairs and walkers for the Farmington community to borrow. 

Greystone Foundation: $2,500 to provide short-term financial assistance to individuals and families who have unexpected events disruptive to household finances. 

Farmington Food Pantry: $3,000 to purchase fresh food from a local farm for distribution at the food pantry. 

Healing Meals Community Project: $2,500 to provide healthy, organic meals to Farmington residents in a health crisis.

For all Ages: $5,920 to support the Farmington Social Connections Program to support the spring conversation series as well as additional community social connection events throughout 2025. 

Invent the Summer: $3,200 to support kid-run STEM summer challenges.

Interval House: $5,000 to support Farmington victims of domestic violence. 

Services for the Elderly of Farmington: $4,250 to purchase wheelchairs and walkers for the Farmington community to borrow. 

Greystone Foundation: $5,000 to provide short-term financial assistance to individuals and families who have unexpected events disruptive to household finances.

Covenant to Care for Children: $3,000 to provide basic and essential goods for Farmington children who are abused, neglected, impoverished, or otherwise at risk. 

Farmington Food Pantry: $2,500 to purchase fresh food from a local farm for distribution at the food pantry. 

Stanley-Whitman House: $7,000 to fund the Charlotte Henry Initiative, aiming to explore and highlight the life of Charlotte Henry, a mixed-race Native/African American woman and make the Stanley-Whitman House a vital center for the study of the Tunxis community. 

Healing Meals Community Project: $2,500 to provide healthy, organic meals to Farmington residents in a health crisis. 

New Horizons: $2,600 to purchase AED equipment for their community pickleball program. 

Invent the Summer: $3,600 to support kid-run STEM summer challenges.

Interval House – $5,000 – to support Farmington victims of domestic violence.

Reach Out and Read – $3,500 – to provide literacy materials and training for Farmington pediatricians.

Operation Fuel – $3,500 – to provide energy assistance to Farmington families. 

Farmington Land Trust – $5,000 – to purchase tools and resources to augment the development of programming for exposure to the outdoors and environmental education.

The Family Center (DBA) Imagine Nation, A Museum Early Learning Center (in partnership with the Farmington Public Library) – $2,786 – to underwrite STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) outreach lab workshops at the Farmington Public Library for children ages 2-8.

Invent the Summer – $1,860 –  to purchase video equipment to support kid-run STEM summer challenges. 

Special Olympics Connecticut – $1,000 – to support budget-relieving aspects of Special Olympics Farmington Valley local program .

Farmington Rotary Club Foundation – $3,625 – to offset the cost for educational programming about bees in Farmington Public Schools.

Connecticut Humane Society – $3,136 to support Fox Memorial Clinic, which provides low-fee veterinary services to Farmington residents who cannot afford veterinary care for their pets.

Farmington Food Pantry –  $5,000 to purchase fresh, locally sourced fruits and vegetables for pantry clients for 6 months starting in October 2021.

Farmington Libraries – $1,250 to purchase items for “Library On the Go,” an outreach program that will visit the Farmington community where people gather, at events, local schools, the Senior Center and assisted living facilities.

Hill-Stead Museum – $2,500 to support the 2nd Annual Juneteenth at Hill-Stead, a day of celebration featuring regional Black artists, organizations and Black-owned businesses. 

Interval House –  $5,000 to support “Victim to Survivor: Transformations at Interval House,” a program that helps Farmington clients with safety planning and counseling, court/legal advocacy, transportation to job interviews and work, finding affordable housing and establishing independence. 

Junior Achievement of Southwest New England –  $2,500 to support financial responsibility and work ready programming for Farmington High School and West Woods Upper Elementary School students.  

New Horizons Village – $5,000 to help purchase a new wheelchair accessible vehicle for their medical transportation program called “Sunshine Wheels.”
