Volunteer Opportunities
The Enfield Community Fund committee is seeking new voices!
Applications to volunteer as a committee member are being accepted now!
Requirements to Apply:
- Enfield Resident
- Age 14 or Older
- Agree to adhere to Foundation-wide policies and the Community Funds Handbook
Candidates for elected office, elected officials, and their immediate family members may not serve on a committee.

Grant Awards
In 2025, the Enfield Community Fund at Greater Hartford Gives announced the recipients of its latest grants to organizations that do work to benefit the residents of Enfield.
2025 Grant Awards:
Enfield Food Shelf, Inc. ($5,000) – To provide additional breakfast and protein items for those in need.
Enfield People for People, Inc (Warming Center) ($5,000) – To serve the homeless of the Enfield community by helping anyone in need of warmth, basic essentials, and connections to community resources.
Operation Fuel, Inc. ($5,000) – To provide emergency energy and water assistance.
Enfield KITE (Key Initiatives to Early Education) ($5,000) – To provide free, two-week Kindergarten Camp.
Educational Resources for Children, Inc (ERfC) ($5,000) – To establish an ERfC EDGE Teen program at JFK Middle School.
Kiwanis Club of Greater Enfield ($5,000)- To establish a Service Leadership Program (SLP) at Enfield High School, Support an End Hunger Meal Packing event, ERFC Summer Escape Camp and meals for grandparents raising grandchildren.
A Series of Accessible Events, Incorporated ($2,000) To provide accessible events for children with special needs and their families.
CT Lions Charities ($3,000) To Provide transportation for Enfield participants to the Annual Special ED Christmas Party.
Rotary Club of Enfield Charitable Fund ($5,000) To expand the Common Grounds Rotary Garden to donate harvested items to the Enfield Food Shelf.
Ujima African American Alliance ($3,475) To support the Juneteenth Festival.
Buzz Robotics ($5,000) Support the Enfield Family STEAM Night.
Enfield Little League Baseball ($5,000) To refurbish batting cages and upgrade dugouts
The Enfield Historical Society ($5,000) To establish The Young Historian Initiative for students who want to learn more about Enfield’s history.
The Enfield Greater Together Community Fund Committee thanks all of the groups that submitted project funding requests this cycle; we look forward to assisting with many more worthwhile projects in the future that will enhance the lives of our Enfield residents.
Past Grant Recipients
2024
Enfield Food Shelf, Inc. ($4,732) – to provide transportation assistance for weekly grocery distribution
Enfield People for People, Inc ($2,500) – Provide warm and safe overnight shelter for the greater Enfield community.
Special Olympics Connecticut: Enfield Allied Stars ($2,500) – Support athletes and partners with transportation, sports equipment, uniforms and registration costs.
Enfield Community Cat Project ($2,000) – Project Spay/Neuter pets to prevent abandoned cats, unwanted litters of kittens and unnecessary suffering.
Ujima African American Alliance ($2,500) – Ujima’s 3rd annual Juneteenth Festival.
Enfield Fourth of July Town Celebration ($2,500) – Bring new activities to the “teen zone” area at the Enfield Fourth of July celebration.
Enfield Community Chorus ($3,160) – Expanding Accessibility for Community Singers and Audience Members
Operation Fuel, Inc. ($5,000) – Emergency energy distribution for low and median income families who qualify for assistance.
Enfield Loaves and Fishes Inc. ($5,000) – Meals for individuals and families who would otherwise go without.
The Connecticut Invention Convention Inc. ($2,500) – Provide programs that foster essential 21st-century skills such as problem-solving, creativity, and innovation through hands-on invention education.
2021
Asnuntuck Community College Foundation ($2,000) – to support the Launch Your Leadership Journey program
Enfield People for People ($4,500) – to support outreach and engagement center operations
Network Against Domestic Abuse of North Central CT ($3,500) – to support its LGBTQIA initiative
Nutmeg Senior Rides ($2,000) – to support its volunteer recruitment project
Operation Fuel ($3,000) – to provide energy assistance for Enfield residents
Ujima African American Alliance ($1,250) – to support the mental health awareness program
UR Community Cares ($4,500) – to support the Enfield Community Cares project
