Volunteer Opportunities
The Greater Hartford Gives Andover Community Fund Committee is seeking new voices!
Applications to volunteer as a committee member are being accepted now!
Requirements to Apply:
- Andover Resident
- Age 14 or Older
- Agree to adhere to Foundation-wide policies and the Community Funds Handbook
Candidates for elected office, elected officials, and their immediate family members may not serve on a committee.

Grant Awards
In 2025, the Greater Hartford Gives Andover Community Fund announced the recipients of its latest grants to 7 organizations that do work to benefit the residents of Andover.
Through its 2025 grant cycle, the Greater Hartford Andover Community Fund proudly supported 7 organizations making a difference in the lives of Andover residents.
The 2025 grants recommended for funding and awarded includes:
Andover Beautification Committee – $5,000 in support of landscaping around new tree sign
Andover Recreation Committee – $5,000 in support of the basketball program training and equipment
Hop River Homes/Eastern CT Housing – $10,000 for fire panel upgrade
Junior Achievement – $1,000 for RHAM students from Andover to participant in the Entrepreneurship program
Operation Fuel – $10,000 for energy assistance for Andover residents
Tolland County Robotics Foundation – $2,500 for Andover children to participate in the Lego Explore program
Veterans Field Improvement Committee – $10,000 for playground equipment and pavilion at Long Hill Fields

Community Organized and Operated Latchkey, Inc. – CDL training for camp director – $5,000
AHM Youth & Family Services – Andover Chores Program – $1,000
Andover Public Library – Nature photography providing educational materials, lectures and crafts to explore and learn about nature – $730
Norton Children’s Fund Commission – For a scholarship to a graduating Andover senior – $1,000
Andover Cub Scout Pack 124 – Uniforms – $1,500
2022
Andover Friends of the Library – $517 for backpacks that will be loaned out to library patrons
Andover 175th Anniversary Committee – $1,000 towards events and activities celebrating the anniversary
First Congregational Church – $10,000 for a generator to protect food in the event of a power outage
2021
Andover Historical Society – $250 for the purchase of three brass plaques to identify the historical meeting house stone, case papermill dam, and the Baptist Church stepping stone
Andover Sustainable CT Committee, Town of Andover – $411 to assist in the creation of a community garden. The initial phase will have 16 beds for residents to rent. In addition, the garden will function as an outdoor classroom to demonstrate sustainable food production and gardening
Andover Friends of the Library – $1,082 for the creation of an outdoor space with a tent, portable PA System, stands, cables, and a microphone for outdoor programming and events
Town of Andover, Veterans Affairs – $3,000 to support the purchase of three flag poles for the Veterans Monument Park
Andover PTA – $6,000 to support the construction of an outdoor learning/community space
Donate to the Greater Hartford Gives Andover Community Fund
